Data Files


The following data is available for download via a web interface that allows you to access files on the FTP server using a standards-compliant web browser. You can also click on the headings below to directly access that FTP folder via the web interface. Please review the FTP Help File for schema information and general use instructions.

Please note that an FTP client that supports Transport Layer Security (TLS) is now required to directly access the FTP site ftp.polkpa.org. Please see Accessing Polk County Property Appraiser FTP Resources for additional information.

The Florida Public Records Exemptions Statute, FS 119.071, has been amended as it relates to the publicly available records maintained by the county property appraiser and tax collector. As a result, exempt (aka confidential) parcels and accounts have been added back to our website and FTP data files. No owner names or Official Records books and pages of recorded documents related to these parcels/accounts, will appear on the Property Appraiser’s website or in FTP data files. In addition, the Polk County Property Appraiser mapping site has been modified to accommodate the statutory change.

Appraisal Data

The Appraisal Data consists of files that contain the assessment data associated with parcels. It includes owner, sales, & property value information. The files are in text format (.txt) and zipped to reduce their size. They can be imported into Microsoft Access or a similar database program. The intended purpose of the Appraisal Data is to provide users the ability to create customized queries and reports (example: mail labels or sales reports). These files are updated daily.

Tangible Data

The Tangible Data consists of files that contain the assessment data associated with all tangible accounts. It includes, owner, account details, & account value information. The files are in text format (.txt) and zipped to reduce their size. They can be imported into Microsoft Access or a similar database program. The intended purpose of the Tangible Data is to provide users the ability to create customized queries and reports (example: mail labels or sales reports). These files are updated daily.

GIS Data

GIS Data is vector data of the areas of Polk County which have been completed in GIS. These zipped files are provided in ESRI shapefile format.  This data is updated daily.

Images

The IMAGES folder contains orthorectified aerial photography for 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2007. Orthorectification is the name of the process used to remove distortion and make the photo fit real world distances and surfaces. The compressed Images are in MrSID (Multi Resolution Seamless Image Database) format.

Tax Roll Files

The Tax Roll Files folder contains the Appraisal and GIS data at final tax roll for previous five tax rolls.  This data is updated at final tax roll each year.
